In Type 2 diabetes mellitus

  • To treat Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
  • To treat heart failure with reduced ejection fraction
  • To treat chronic kidney disease
  • In combination with insulin to treat Type 1 Diabetes

  • Dapagliflozin is taken in tablet form at doses of 5mg or 10mg
  • Take with water once a day either with or without food
  • Try to take Dapagliflozin at around the same time each day
  • If you miss a dose and your next dose is within 12 hours, wait until the next dose to resume the treatment
  • Do not increase or lower the dose without consulting your doctor

  • Hypoglycemia – if taken with Sulphonylureas or Insulin
  • Genital Infections
  • Urinary Tract Infections
  • Frequent urination (Polyuria)
  • Lowering of Blood pressure

  • Have had an allergic reaction to Dapagliflozin or any other medicines in the past
  • Have severe kidney or liver disease
  • Often get Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)
